Play Isn’t Just Play—It’s How Children Learn
In a world that pushes early academics, it’s easy to feel like your child needs structured learning to thrive. But the truth is, play is enough.
Play is how young children:
✅ Build problem-solving and critical thinking skills
✅ Develop emotional resilience and confidence
✅ Strengthen their social skills and creativity
✅ Lay the foundation for future academic success
But here’s the challenge—modern distractions, overwhelming toy clutter, and constant entertainment are getting in the way of real play.
So how do we create an environment where children can engage deeply in play, without us having to constantly guide them?
That’s exactly what you’ll learn in Play Is Enough.
What You’ll Learn in This Workshop
🌱 Why play is the most important part of early childhood learning – and how to fully embrace it
🎭 The stages of play – so you can support your child’s natural development
🏡 How to create a play space that invites independent play – no expensive toys required
🖐️ The role of the senses in play – simple ways to engage touch, sound, and movement
✨ How to encourage deeper, richer play – without entertaining them 24/7
By the end of this workshop, you’ll feel confident in letting go of the pressure and allowing your child’s natural play instincts to unfold.
This Workshop is for You if...
✔ You’re tired of feeling like you have to constantly entertain your child
✔ Your child has plenty of toys but still says, “I’m bored!”
✔ You want to create a home environment that fosters rich, meaningful play
✔ You want to embrace play as your child’s most important “work”
You don’t need fancy toys or Pinterest-perfect setups. You just need the right approach to support the kind of play that builds lifelong skills.
Meet Your Host
Hi, I’m Samantha Alford, but everybody calls me Sam, and I’m the founder of Let Them Be Little.
I bring a somewhat diverse career history to the table, but it lead me here! I have a degree in sociology, studied early childhood education at Melbourne University in Australia, and have years of experience working in daycares and as a nanny. I’m also certified in baby-led sleep and passionate about helping parents create a warm, play-filled childhood for their little ones.
Through my work, I’ve seen firsthand how play is the foundation for lifelong learning. And I want to help you feel confident in embracing it—without second-guessing whether it’s enough.
